Meanwhile, back at the farm...

The WHOLE field trip gang on the large main lawn of the plantation.
The kids sitting on the porch of one of the many houses/offices on the working plantation. This Grove Farm owned over 1/2 of the island at one time... They produced the sugar cane and figured out how to get the water down the volcano mountain to irrigate the fields for the sugar.
Now we are at church, after the 3 hrs. and still smiling!

Grove Farm Field Trip

Uncle Jerry and Kristine came to visit!!!

Well, we did LOTS of things for the 10 days they visited!

FIRST bite and the fork broke!! Didn't really slow down that Utah ICE CREAM eatin' fellow much! I just traded forks with him and I used a spoon and got even the last scoop of hula pie!!!

Snows visit for fun...

Eating lunch at the Marriott in Poipu, Cathy and Brent Snow from Atlanta, Jax's inlaws came for 24 hrs. to visit. Yummy lunch, great ocean views!

Had a whirlwind tour of south shore of the island. Including Shipwreck beach, but NO jumpers while we were there.
We got to see Michael out at work by the new round about.

The Celtic concert we went to that night after dinner at the
Hukilau. Yummy! too! Concert was really good. Celtic harp and fiddler...
About 20 of us went.

Pig on a stick for Sunday dinner

Cindy and Bill Morgan, from Idaho, our friends from the first year we lived here... are visiting! They hooked up with THEIR friend, Tongan Steve WHO invited us all to a family Luau pig feast! in his back yard in Anahola, by Kong Mountain last Sunday afternoon and evening!

domestic pig, red meat means wild pig. This one was white meat.
It was SO good!!! Amazing! We had white rice, octopus with coconut milk and tea leaves, potatoe/mac salad and soda pop.

Spring break

Jesse and Aaron helped the cub scouts go on a hike up Sleeping Giant. Jenna was working at the airport at this time, so she couldn't help. She climbs this mountain for fun to watch the sunrise?
This is the mountain they climbed... I went 1/2 way up, that was a great view and outlook of the ocean I felt and I was done!
Another day we went to watch for whales, and found a monk seal instead. Jake was helping watch the kids while their mom was at girls camp. Can you find the seal? Laying by the water on a rock.
