The Rest of the TRIP!

Boy Michael Family in Carson City. SMILE everyone!
Rebecca, Grace and Anne are Boy Michael's fan club!!
Grma/Grpa Wheable at Boy Michael's house.
We had JUST eaten the buffet in Reno and Grma was happy about the shrimp!
Dad Michael and Melodee, his twin sister, are entertaining
us with the cell phones... Can you HEAR me now?? The CAT wants NOTHING to do with them!!!
Dad Michael in flip flops in the SNOW!?! At the summit
going to Boy Michael's house. What's with the snow in late Sept?
Grpa Michael hanging with his grandgirls. They had so
much fun with the "slumber party" laying on the floor that day! Grace (2) and Anne (8 months)
I am thinking there is a spell check available on this one?
Where was it on the other entry?
OK, after a fun time in Atlanta Michael and I flew Southwest over to SF and started out West Coast leg of the adventure.
We spent time doing the long drive up and down Hwy. 80 from the bay area to Reno. Miles and miles. There was snow
on both sides of the road and on the trees. It was beautiful!
We hung out with Boy Michael and Rebecca for the weekend. The guys went shooting late on Sat. afternoon and Dad Michael
forgot to take a sweatshirt for the evening cool and caught himself a good chill.
Rebecca and I got to attend Sun. morning conf. and we had a yummy chicken and potatoe lunch together before we
drove back down the hill to Teri's home. The little girls were SO entertaining and cute! And shopping was fun for little
girls again!
After a great dinner and a good night of sleep on a blowup bed, Michael headed back to the bay area for the Monday
and Teri and I took off in her new blue Lexus convertible for Apple Hill and some apple pie with carmel sauce. The
weather cooperated and we had a nice day. Topped off with a surprise reunion of the committee! We shared some
pizza and memories and caught up on a bit of life for about 45 minutes and then finished off the evening by attending
a meeting of gratitude.
Tues. we ATE our way thru the day. Breakfast with Joy, girls and grandchildren and Dallas. It was fun to see them in
action. Lunch was with Aunt Carol and we saw the Hawaii pictures from their trip here. Then we met up with Bec/Ray
for pizza and hot cookie dinner at BJ's before driving back to the bay area. It was a treat of a day!
Wed. morning was spent preparing to travel back up to Carson City with Michael's parents. We ate an endless meal
at the buffet in Reno and I have never seen Grma Wheable eat so much. She put away shrimp like non other and really
enjoyed it all! We visited Boy Michael and family again and Grmpa/Grma Wheable got to see their nice home. After
pictures and conversation, we met with Melodee and James, Michael's sisiter and husband and drove over to our
timeshare in So. Lake Tahoe. It was a two/two and 6 of us bedded down for the night. In the morning it was a beautiful
surprise to see the surroundings and vacation some more with everyone. Rebecca joined us with the girls and we met
Boy Michael for lunch and ate our way thru another day! We drove to Emerald Bay with Michael's parents and saw the fire
damage of the mountain side and homes and really enjoyed the day. Even the couple games of pool were fun in the club house!
Next day we left and popped into Apple Hill on the way down. Rain and cool was the weather and we got juice, apples and
IN and OUT animal fries by Davis. $1.60 to animal style it is pretty high! 2nd order didn't get animal styled...
We were now to Friday and our plane was flying back to Hawaii on Sat. afternoon. After MANY miles and much food and fun
with family and friends, we were ready to get back to life. We SO enjoyed our holiday travel in the "pre" holiday time and
send a sincere thank you to all the caring and kindnesses showed to us on this so-journ. Many fun memories and good pictures. Love and Aloha to you.

Southern Style

Jax and Jenna were adoring the pirate. Well, maye NOT
Jax, she has her pirate all lined up... Brooks would be his name!

Brx/Jax ready for food. Brooks was talking about the fish and chips or football, Jax got the point of the picture--SMILE!

IF Michael ever ends up missing, he would be hanging out with this type... His alter personality would fit just FINE!

GROUP SHOT with the best of us... MIchael is taking the picture, but he got a SOLO shot with the pirate!
I am thinking I will start this blog instead of sending out the Aloha's that I do...
This way I can add pictures and as people check it, they can comment?!
Jax and Camille use their blogs to keep us up to date and it is a fun read SO I am
trying to be up with those "in the KNOW" and get this started!
I first have to have Jesse download my pictures... I think this is going to be
a FULL family project.
OK, TRIP UPDATE!
That mainland is A BIG ONE! We flew for a 24 hr. period, made all our flights and lived in airports
and planes for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Food doesn't seem to be served on planes anymore.
Here in Hawaii the flights are so short that they just sort of TOSS you a guava juice and IF you are
co-ordinated, you can open it in altitude w/o splashing it on your outfit for the day. We usually laugh
and guzzel the three gulps before the pilot comes on to announce our decent to the next island...
Well, anyways we ate a $10 breakfast of 2 quarter pancakes, and flouressent green potatoes in SF
after flying the red eye from Kauai to LA to SF, before boarding to Chicago for a dinner layover to
fly into Alabama to sleep for the night and then drive to Atlanta.
FOOD is becoming a "pack your own!" We did get a delicious breakfast at the Cracker Barrel upon
the highway there somewhere between states. They are SO yummy and talk about good ol' down
home cookin' and hospitality! Michael picked up the Alabama twang and proceeded to entertain us
on the remainder of the trip. He even brought a bit of it back to the island and it REALLY mixes
with the island pegiun!
Upon arriving in Atlanta and finding Jax at Brx's office we drove Atlanta freeways, Kamakazi style to
go downtown to their walk up flat. Comfortable and right in the heart of action, so they LOVE it there,
well, it was close to Jax's school...
We dined at a popular Mexican place and settled into a fun Southern pace of vacationing.
Five of us drove in the compact car, glad we are all skinny! To visit Savannah. They DO have
the most beautiful homes there and the BEST praline candy fresh made. It was down on the
river, so sailboats became entertaining and walking around the shops was our passtime.
We all went on a GHOST tour and I guess I was the only one to see twin ghosts and their cat...?
We dined at the Pirate house and became educated in the haunts of history.

The next day we drove to Tybe Island and Michael wants to move there. The Atlantic Ocean is brown
water, so I am not voting the same... We ate hot dogs and walked the sandy beach and relaxed
before another meal downtown Savannah.
We drove back all day Monday after feasting on wings at Hilton Head, saw NO seashore, all built over,
and had plenty of time to reminess before getting back to Atlanta.
Tuesday was a work day for the kids, all three so Michael and I got lost around Atlanta.
We dined at a great salad place and then arranged to meet Bob/Judy, my cousins at the
Atlanta temple the following morning for a session. It was a treat to see them!
After Jenna did my hair for me and we shopped downtown and then ate spaghetti at the kids flat
since we had eated our way thru the SOUTH! We did leave in rain, they are in a drought, so Jax hadn't
bought an umbrella yet.... YEAH, solid rain, got wet loading the car, but we were dry by the time we stopped
at another Cracker Barrel for brunch! YUM, could just enjoy the whole place down there!!!
