Jesse UPDATE!

This is the Stennett hill, I am picking Jesse up to go to orchestra I think...
or for dinner, or scouts but NOT for night time, it would be dark.
He is usually getting into the driver's seat now, seminary, college, aikido
and even to the mall a couple times...  He shops on his own!!
Tues. night Jesse earned the last of his merit badges at the Court of Honor.
Now he needs to focus on the Eagle project...  Maybe for Oct./Nov.  Maybe
he should have RE earned the photography merit badge and learned to SMILE
in his pictures?!?!
Jesse conducting the Court of Honor.  He was dismissing the colors, and
Jordan Stennett was color guard.  They did a good job staying serious and
respectful for the process!
A Jesse update wouldn't be complete w/o a computer picture...  He is actually
working on homework here!  He is taking an online astronomy course and has
about 18 chapters to read/answer/test...  Keep up the good work Jesse, starting
5th week of college this week.  2 essays due in speech again this Wed. only 500
words each this time, 1,000 words each LAST Friday and a 5 chpt. test!

A Honolulu anniversary weekend!

Leaving Lihue airport-standby for Honolulu Thurs. am.  It is not hightime
now so we were able to get across and get bonus time at our timeshare
downtown Waikiki for a couple of nights of vacation!  YEAH!!
We rented an economy car for $17 a day... but they offered us this Seabring convertible
since none of the economy cars were available.  OK!!
One of the prettiest spots on the island!  Almost to North Shore.  Total color treat!
Headed to Laie for a session at the temple.
Sitting at Waikiki beach in the shade...  Beautiful day and not TOO crowded!
Walked in the water and enjoyed the sights and people watching... before heading to
Round Table for some pizza.
Diamond Head and ocean, from the Sheraton, completely redoing the Royal Hawaiian
beach side and the walk way.  New shopping mall  too by the Cheesecake factory, amazing!

THE life of JESSE-for College Speech...

Jesse's first assignment for Speech was to present his life in
PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE.
This was his presentation...  Past is the above cartoon!  TRUE!!!
He felt this was pretty good for how it is feeling right now as the screws of responsibility
are tightening and he does NOT have ALL week to "hang out"---
He still does, but just in pockets of time and NOT all week, that's progress.
Jesse is pinning for summer.
This is FUTURE...
Jesse is undeclared as a major and I told him to say he is going to be an
engineer OR a rocket scientist...
That makes him SOUND smarter...  BUT this cartoon was TOO funny!
OK, Jesse can grow up and work with BROOKS in computer programing?!!?
PLEASE save him a spot on the payroll.
Cousin Sammy, Elder Sherrill is a good role model,
doing the IMPORTANT work of the Lord,
This too is Jesse's goal!
But for right NOW,
Jesse needs to learn to come up for air,
and not get piled too high when a wave is coming!
You go Jenna!  Come up, Jesse!  LOVE life!

PRE-"back to school' fun...

Jenna and I finally got a day off together to fly to Honolulu.
Isaac was visiting Erik for a couple of days so the kids met us at the mall and
walked around while we walked into EVERY store!
Good shopper/lookers.  We ate at Arby's 'cuz everyone was a starving student.
Jenna was sad, 'cuz she wanted to go to the Thai eatery that Erik works at...  (TOO expensive)
We DID shop for school clothes for Jesse!  Old Navy is great for that!!
The Thurs. before that Monday at the mall, we ALL got a day at the beach together!
Only happened ONCE this summer!  Jenna is doing her synchronized swim stand,
Jesse is under the water---holding her up!
It was Kailey Hale's 17th bday that day so it was a party!
Kates and Kailey were playing "name that Disney tune" w/ Jenna at the beach.
GROUP SHOT!  then is was LUNCH!  This is WORK, people!!  NOT so easy swimming
in those BIG waves!!!  Just ask Sharon...  Aloha

PUKA and HULA parties w/ Brit & Bayleigh...

At the Puka Dog stand, got seats and ready to munch!
MMMMM, GOOD!!!
SO, this is THE hula pie!??  BACK OFF, Jesse!!  Jenna likin' those fries!
Brit enjoying the famous HULA PIE, she made it to the island AND got some hula pie!
Eatin' up, island style, SHARING the fries...

Jesse, the COLLEGE student...

Tuition AND books were paid for today...
Jesse starts college THIS coming MONDAY!!!
$400 for four books, $830 for 12 credit hrs.  and he is enrolled!!
He is signed up for SPEECH, better come out from behind that cup!!
English/composition, Math, and Astronomy (on line)...
Let's see that will represent 24 hrs. of studying each week!
NOT much time left for XBox!!!
Might be giving up the social life for a little bit, eat up that HULA pie!!!
Yep, we are HAPPY too!  He completed a HUGE goal and is going to college.
We are ALSO hoping to get the EAGLE project finished in Sept.
Will keep you posted of the date, so SOME of you could come over and HELP!?!?!
Jesse IS driving himself to seminary this year, he loves driving and I LOVE staying
asleep at 5:50am while he drives!!  Is that ALMOST "empty nesting"???
Lots of accomplishments this last 7 months, Jesse!!  GREAT job!!!
