Home School Field Trip to Kauai Hindu Temple

There is a Hindu Temple being built up in Kapaa in a beautiful area to the side of the river. We took the walking tour and this is the granite temple being built here.
Most of the group who took the tour.
The slabs of granite are being shipped over here and then carved on the spot.
There is a 700 lb. crystal in the sacred room. VERY interesting!
This is one of the stone carvers who is doing the work. AMAZING!
All by hand and picks.
They are thinking this project will have taken 10 years when completed and consecrated.
J'net and Jenna at the temple entrance. All hand carved!!!
I had shorts on... They supplied sarongs for anyone who had LEG showing!? (Men AND women included!)
The kids were relaxing at the meditation pool in the shade
before we went to the Hales for lunch. Nice day!
This spot needs to be added to our tour of the island...
Only temple of this kind on the No. American cont. Worth seeing!
Just remember to wear long pants!

That is really amazing. I don't think the temple I was talking about was a Hindu temple. We do have one in Atlanta though.
